It was a beautiful fall weekend – perfect October weather, with the autumn colors intensifying here in the Connecticut River valley. We drove a bit further north, into the town of Orford NH, then up into the foothills near Mount Cube. At this slightly higher elevation, the fall foliage was nearing peak color.

Our destination was a parcel of farmland recently conserved by the Upper Valley Land Trust (UVLT): the Mountain View Farm Conservation Area. It is a gorgeous mix of pasture and forest, with a small pond hidden in the pocket of a valley at the base of Stonehouse Mountain. We enjoyed a sunny walk to the pond and back, so much so that I resolved to return this morning when the sun was lower, the water calmer, and with more camera gear. Enjoy the gallery!
