Yesterday was a beautiful day, so we took a road-trip to Bristol NH, about an hour from home. Our long loop drive took us through some beautiful New Hampshire countryside, with a stop at a new Mexican restaurant, Cielito, in Bristol. (Recommended!)
I thought perhaps there might be some interesting waterfalls along this route, so I checked my friend Eli Burakian’s book Hiking New England Waterfalls for some ideas.

Ahah! Profile Falls are in a small park just a mile or two from Bristol’s central square. They are a short (but rugged) walk from the parking area. The main cascade empties into a wide pool. Above, a smaller set of cascades provides a nice foreground for an arching stone bridge.

It was a beautiful sunny summer afternoon; a lovely time to explore, but not ideal for waterfall photography. I used a circular polarizer and an ND8 filter. Check out the gallery, which includes a video.
